News
We have made the decision to discontinue our existing toll free phone number as it was being absolutely blasted with "telephone solicitation calls" to the point, we had no other option than to close it. If you would like to talk to us ... send us an email throught the "Contact Us" link ... tell us your phone number and when we can call and we will be happy to call you at our expense.

Urgent - Speakers Needed - We have active advertising campaigns running in many cities, Seattle, Phonenix, Houston, Fresno, St Louis, Orlando, Chicago, Denver ... to name just a few. Our meeting planners, clubs and associations are looking for speakers in these areas, and many others.

Have you seen our ads in Toastmaster Magazine? On-line through Google? On-line using MSN? Or have you been told about us by other members? Our links are also displayed in various other online web pages.

Speakers Information

Overview

This website is designed to give speakers, such as Toastmasters and others, an opportunity to connect with Meeting Planners, Service Clubs, Event Planners and Educators who may be looking for experienced local Speakers, Presenters or Trainers.

Speakers need to register with the web site in order for Meeting Planners to find and communicate with them. The registration fee is only $25 (USD) per year, no other fees apply, and no agents or other middleman is involved. Meeting Planners will communicate directly with Speakers they are interested in.

This web site is very safe to use, Meeting Planners will communicate with Speakers through the internal Private Messaging System built into the web site. See more below on Private Messaging System.

What is a Meeting Planner or Event Planner?
Meeting and Event Planners is a term used to describe anyone who is charged with putting on a meeting, conference, seminar or similar event.

Meeting and event planners will often arrange for things like meeting rooms, food and drink, advertising for the event ... and of course hiring speakers and presenters.

 What Happens When I Register?

When you register, you will also fill out your own Speakers Profile, which will describe your speaking skills and topics. You will also have the ability to post a picture of yourself on you Profile Page. Both your picture and profile description can be re-edited at any time in the future.

Meeting Planners and those interested in finding speakers will then be able to view your personal Speakers Profile Page.

When a Meeting Planner finds a Speaker they are interested in, they will send you a Private Message through the website. When a private message is sent, the recepient of the message receives an email stating that there is a message on the web sites and you will need to log into the www.locatespeakers.com in order to read your message and respond to it.

How Much Should I Charge for Speaker?

Speakers often wonder how much they should charge for an engagement. The best way to approach this is to first of all find out how long your services will be needed. If your presentation is to a local group for a short period of time, and you are not well known in the public's eye as a speaker, we recommend that you provide your services for free, or at most a modest expense fee if needed.

All speakers need to build from a "base of experience" and in many cases you will be better served to receive a letter of recommendation from the organization or person who hires your services.

We also recommend talking in advance to the Meeting Planner or person who is hiring you with regard to "hand-outs" or other out-of-pocket expenses that you may incur. Very often an organization would be willing to cover these expenses.

The best answer of when and how much to charge will come to you as you continue to deliver speeches and presentations, and become "in demand" by organizations.

What Is the Private Messaging system?

The Private Messaging system (PM) is a built in communications component of the web site that allows members (Speakers and Meeting Planners) to send notes back and forth to one another.
When a PM is sent from one person to another, the person receiving the PM will receive an email telling them that a PM has been submitted and that they will need to go to www.locatespeakers.com and log into the site in order to see their message, or to send a message to another member.

What is theSpeaker Request Listing?
Meeting Planners who are registered with this website have the ability to submit a request for a speaker.

In some instance Meeting Planners may be looking for a specific speaker on a unique topic, or they may be looking for a speaker in their area where currently no speakers have registered.

The Speakers Request Listing allows Meeting Planners to provide a brief description of the type of speaker they are looking for, and the geographic location (town or city) that the speaker is needed. Anyone can then see the Speaker Request Listing as it is shown on the home page, but only REGISTERED Speakers are allowed to see the details of the request, including the contact information of the Meeting Planner when they "click" on the link.
